Bob Smiciklas,
B.A., B.Th., M.A., C.C.C.
Executive Director / Counsellor

Bob Smiciklas is the Executive Director of Shalom
Counselling Services – Leamington/Windsor. For over fourteen years, Bob has
used practical solution focused methods to help his counselling clients
cope with relationship & family conflicts, stress, grief & loss,
personal and spiritual growth issues, anger, depression and anxiety. Bob is a Certified Counsellor with
the Canadian Counselling Association, a Licensed Minister, and has taught
undergraduate Counselling and Theology courses at Master’s College
and Seminary. His degrees are in Psychology, Theology, and Pastoral
Counselling, with a special emphasis on the integration of faith and
therapeutic interventions. He was privileged to complete his clinical
training under Dr. Richard Dobbins, which included extensive crisis and
trauma counselling at the Detroit Medical Centre. Bob regularly speaks in
the community and conducts enrichment workshops and seminars on a variety
of topics. He has been featured
on CKLW-AM800 and CBC Radio.

Dr.
Darlene Maxey, Ph.D., C.C.C., L.P.C.
Counsellor

Dr. Darlene Maxey earned her doctorate in Counselling
from Wayne State
University in Detroit Michigan,
where she enjoyed urban yet sophisticated atmosphere and is proud to be an
alumni. Her area of
professional interests includes working with children and children’s
disorders, adolescents and eating disorders, as well as adults in a variety
of personality and life issues.
Dr. Maxey enjoys facilitating growth groups and has taught
undergraduate courses in counselling and psychology at Masters College
and Seminary and at Wayne
State University.
She is a Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling Association and
a Licensed Professional Counsellor in Michigan, and is active in her local
church.

John
Heger, Psy S., C.C.C., L.L.P.
Counsellor

|
John Heger holds a Specialist Degree in Clinical
Psychology and a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Counselling and Christian
Education. He is a Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling
Association and a Licensed Minister.
John specializes in helping couples restore broken relationships and
individuals in overcoming addiction, depression and anxiety. An enthusiastic teacher, John
conducts workshops on communication, addiction and spiritual growth,
integrating the hope of Biblical Christianity with sound therapeutic
intervention. John is a strong advocate for applying Biblical truths to our
everyday concerns and issues. John has been active in the mental health
field since 1992, working as both a mental health technician and in
substance abuse units in hospital settings. John is active in his local
congregation as a teacher and small group leader.

Krista
Konrad, M.S.W., R.S.W.

Krista Konrad, M.S.W.,
R.S.W is a clinical social worker and counsellor who works with
individuals, couples, families and adolescents from a client centered
perspective. She earned her
Master of Social Work degree from Wilfrid Laurier
University and is a
member of the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service
Workers. Prior to joining
Shalom, Krista practiced as a Family Service Worker and Branch Service
Director with the Simcoe County Children’s Aid Society where she
treated families and children facing complex issues including domestic
violence, physical and sexual abuse, parent/child conflict,
separation/divorce, addictions and mental health issues. Krista has been actively involved in
her church’s missions program, including as a leader of relief team
to Ecuador. Krista is dedicated to working
collaboratively with her clients toward healing and growth while providing
an environment that is safe and supportive.
